Avoid surgery or drugs as a first option for your pain
Chiropractic care is a safe, evidence-based first-line approach for musculoskeletal pain that helps many patients avoid medication or invasive procedures. Recent guidelines from the American College of Physicians identify conservative therapies—such as chiropractic treatment, rehabilitation, and massage therapy—as the preferred initial option for low back pain. Studies show that patients with low back pain who begin their care with a high-quality chiropractor or spine specialist are about 75% less likely to require surgery compared with those who first see a primary care physician or physical therapist. Likewise, individuals who start with chiropractic care (or acupuncture) are 75% to 90% less likely to end up taking opioids.

Pain is not the problem
It’s true: we will get you out of pain—faster than you might imagine. More importantly, pain is a signal that something deeper is imbalanced—often a remnant of a prior injury or chronic postural strain.
During your first treatment, one of our experienced back and spine specialists will diagnose the root cause of your discomfort. From there, we focus on quickly eliminating acute symptoms and then go beyond traditional chiropractic adjustments by providing you with tools for functional stability, so you can stay active and injury-free for years to come.

Board-Certified Back and Spine Specialists
At Aligned Modern Health, our board-certified back and spine specialists bring a higher level of expertise to your chiropractic care. Here’s what that designation means:
Rigorous Education and Training
- Advanced Degrees: Every specialist holds a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM), Doctor of Chiropractic (DC), or comparable doctoral degree. This ensures a deep understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy, biomechanics, and neurophysiology.
- Specialized Coursework: Their training includes specialized coursework in spine health, orthopedic assessment, neuromuscular rehabilitation, and advanced manual therapies.
Board Certification Requirements
- Examinations: Board-certified back and spine specialists have passed rigorous national or state board exams specifically focused on spinal care, postural analysis, and advanced adjustment techniques.
- Continuing Education: They maintain certification by completing ongoing continuing education in areas such as spinal manipulation, sports injury management, and emerging techniques (e.g., instrument-assisted adjustments, functional movement assessments).
Clinical Experience and Expertise
- High Case Volume: These practitioners have treated hundreds (if not thousands) of patients with complex spinal conditions—everything from herniated discs and degenerative joint disease to post-operative rehabilitation and athletic injuries.
- Collaborative Care: They frequently work side by side with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and pain management specialists, ensuring that each patient’s spine health is managed comprehensively and in concert with other medical providers.
Wide Range of Techniques
- Spinal Manipulation & Mobilization: From diversified adjustments to gentle mobilizations, these chiropractors tailor their technique selection based on individual patient needs.
- Supporting Modalities: In addition to hands-on adjustments, board-certified specialists may integrate therapeutic modalities such as instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, spinal decompression, neuromuscular re-education, and advanced corrective exercises.
Patient-Centered Approach
- Comprehensive Treatment Planning: Care begins with a thorough intake and musculoskeletal exam. Board-certified specialists develop multi-phase treatment plans—starting with pain relief and progressing to functional restoration and injury prevention.
- Outcome Tracking: They routinely measure functional outcomes (range of motion, strength, pain scales) and adjust treatment plans based on objective improvements, ensuring you receive measurable progress.
Why It Matters for You
Choosing a board-certified back and spine specialist means you’re working with a practitioner who has completed the highest levels of chiropractic education, passed specialized spine-focused board exams, and committed to ongoing training. Their combination of a broad toolkit of adjustment and supportive modalities, and collaborative mindset with other medical professionals translates into safer, more effective care—so you can recover faster and maintain long-term spinal health.

Frequently Asked Questions
What health insurance do you accept?
We accept all major health insurance plans at Aligned Modern Health. For many of our services, we are in-network with specific providers, but can also provide you the documentation that you need if we are out of network. In addition, Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Care Reimbursement Accounts may be used for many of our services as well. If you have questions about your insurance coverage, our team will verify your benefits and explain them to you before treatment, at no charge.
What are my options if I don't have insurance coverage?
If you do not have insurance coverage, you can pay directly for the care you need. We offer wellness packages, priced to be cost effective and affordable. You can also pay for services using Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts .(HSA), and Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA).
Can I pay with HSA, FSA, or HRA?
Yes. Our services are eligible expenses for most Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA).
How frequently can I get adjusted?
Your treatment plan will be customized towards your personal goals. While plans vary, we typically see patients more frequently at the beginning of care, and then frequency tapers off as the patient progresses until discharge, as always there are exceptions. Some patients without pain choose to continue care every four, six, or eight weeks so as to not regress.
