Sunday is more often than not everyone’s “Reset Day”. Whether your rituals include going out for brunch or doing your laundry — everyone loves something that will get them in a good head space for the work week. Here are some of our favorite self care destinations to pump you up for the week!

1)  Take A Class At Yoga Tree

Whether you’re a seasoned Yogi or just beginning your journey, start your day with a refreshing class at the cozyYoga Tree Studio. Single classes are just $18 (so much more affordable than your typical boutique fitness class) and you’ll love the friendly neighborhood vibe. You can go full out Yogi with a Forrest Yoga class or ease into your Self Care Sunday and opt for a Restorative class – either way you’ll have started your day by getting your body moving  at this charming Andersonville spot!

2) Caffeinate Yourself at TrueNorth Cafe

After you’re all loose from your morning Yoga sesh, wander down the street to TrueNorth Cafe for a morning pick-me-up (and definitely don’t forget to gawk at all the adorable Andersonville pups on your walk over!). Whatever your vibe – smoothies, tea, fancy coffee drinks, TrueNorth has it all, and it’s all DELICIOUS. Made with all-natural ingredients, so you know you’re doing your body good, you can always count on TrueNorth for a tasty morning treat. They are also known for their “food with attitude,” so grab a wrap or open-faced sandwich while you’re there!

3) Get All Dolled Up at ‘Styles’

Because what’s a Self-Care Sunday without a little pampering? At Styles, hairdressers rent out a space and operate independently, so it’s a little different than going to a full-blown salon, but the result is just as amazing. If you do stop in and are opting for a fabulous blow out or a cool new do, ask for Vardan. He is truly an artist with hair and will make you feel like a damn queen (plus he’s lived in the neighborhood for years and can tell you even more cool spots to hit!).

4) Shop at Milk Handmade

Aaaaaand now it’s time to SHOP! Milk Handmade is definitely not your run-of-the-mill boutique; they have everything from beautiful clothes to luxurious bath salts, candles and skin care. A little pricey for sure, but so worth it for the quality of product that you’re getting! You could spend hours in there smelling their unique candles and bath soaps with scents like limoncello, olive branch, and pineapple cilantro. Do yourself a favor and buy one of their charcoal masks for some easy, at home self-care…too good to pass up!

5) Wine and Dine at Vincent

You’re relaxed, dolled up, with a new outfit (and face mask, probably) in tow so now you just need somewhere to show off! Vincent is your place. An upscale New American bistro just off the beaten path is the perfect place to end your day of pampering and self-love. Indulge with a spread of some of the creamiest and richest cheeses to accompany the tasty zing of the “Bubbles and Flowers” (one of the signature cocktails….just get it. Trust me). If cheeses aren’t your thing, don’t worry, there’s an eclectic menu to choose from and I’ve yet to be disappointed. Cap the night off with their Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée and perhaps a refill of that cocktail and toast to spending an awesome day with yourself in one of Chicago’s coolest hoods!

Be sure to end your weekend with one of our relaxing services at Aligned Modern Health. Book your appointment for a massage at any of our Chicagoland and surrounding suburb locations. Call us at: 773-598-4387.
