About Dr. Gelband
Jeff Gelband, DC received his Bachelor of Science in biology, with a minor in chemistry from Northern Illinois University in 2012. After that he attended National University of Health Sciences, where he graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2017.
Dr. Gelband has been practicing since 2017 and has taken over 300 hours of continuing education in the topics of nutrition, functional medicine and advanced diagnosis.
Dr. Gelband frequently treats problems related to cardiovascular health, digestive health, hormonal issues, and more. He has a special interest in issues effecting the digestive system such as heart burn, indigestion, and irritable bowel syndrome.
Dr. Jeff Gelband currently serves as a MSgt in the Illinois Air National Guard. He began his military service in 2004 and has served in multiple locations, including two deployments to Afghanistan. Dr. Jeff is also a BLS CPR instructor, training and certifying military members in CPR.
Q&A with Dr. Gelband
What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?
Professionally, I enjoy helping people with digestive issues. People with chronic digestive issues have that burden weighing on them all the time. Being able to remove that burden is something I enjoy a great deal.
Personally, I really enjoy computer games, board games, and in-line speed skating.
What three traits define you?
Attentive, Caring, Determined
What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?
I would still treat patients in much the same way I am now. I deeply enjoy helping others get to the root of their health problems.
What are you surprisingly good at?
I am fairly good at inline skating, which would probably surprise most people.
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
I couldn’t live without my family. I have an amazing fiancée and two wonderful daughters.
What’s the biggest proof that you’re good at what you do?
My patients’ results. At the end of the day, that is the most important metric. I do everything I can for my patients and the results we achieve together are the biggest proof that I am good at what I do.
What problems do you consistently solve for your clients?
Digestive issues are something that I get great results with.
What are you complimented on most in your work?
I am complimented most often at my ability to really listen to what my patients have to say. When my patients are speaking to me, I am listening.
Share something unique that most people don’t know about you.
I speak German and was an exchange student in Germany for a short time during high school.
