Q&A WITH DR. MACKILLOP

What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?

My favorite part of my work in functional medicine is seeing the end result: when patients improve and are empowered to cultivate healthy, happy lives. Personally, I am passionate about investing in my faith, family, and friends.

What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?

I would still invest in learning as much as I can about functional medicine and holistic wellness. One of the major motivators for me to pursue a career in healthcare was the desire to understand the human body on a deeper level and learn how to support its natural design.

What’s the biggest proof that you’re good at what you do?

When patients refer their family and friends. To me, that is the best compliment!

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

In college, I interned at a flavor company where one of my roles was to taste test vanilla ice cream flavorings. Yum!

What problems do you consistently solve for your clients?

I love helping women heal from hormonal imbalances so they can address the root cause of their symptoms, have painless cycles, conceive and carry healthy pregnancies, and support the optimal function of their bodies.

What do you do for fun in your spare time? What are your hobbies?

My favorite way to spend my free time is with friends and family. I also enjoy singing on the worship team at my church, writing, and outdoor activities like running and hiking.

Share something unique that most people don’t know about you.

I’m conversationally fluent in Spanish.
