Q&A with Dr. Bouffard

What are you most passionate about professionally?
I love to learn about new and exciting advancements in Nutrition as it pertains to treatment of conditions previously considered “chronic”.

What are you most passionate about personally?
Teaching others the remarkable strength and effectiveness of nutrition and how to live healthier and more joyous lives with the simple guidance of proper nutrition.

What 3 traits define me?
Outgoing personality, caring and compassionate.

What would you do even if you didn’t get paid for it?
Teach others how to make better choices to live healthier lives.

What are you surprisingly good at?
I am a pretty good singer.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
Music, it’s so great for the soul.

What is your biggest accomplishment?
Opening and operating my own practice for 25 years.

What’s the weirdest job you ever had?
Working on an assembly line for a company that made extension cords. I was the high potency tester. I would stand on a 2-inch-thick rubber mat and plug high voltage into the cord. If it didn’t smoke or smolder, I stamped it with my inspector number, lucky number 7!

How does my education connect me to my professional career?
I love to learn. I am constantly doing webinars and seminars that are focused on the treatment of illness using only natural resources. As a younger adult, I was into health and fitness and appreciated how taking care of yourself made you feel. I was always reluctant to take pills or chemicals that I couldn’t find in nature. I met a chiropractor in my early 20’s who changed my life with one adjustment to help me overcome my diagnosed “strep throat” and the rest is history. I went to chiropractic school, began to study normal anatomy, physiology and nutrition and discovered that illness was a bigger process than the lack of medication.

What problems do you consistently solve for your patients?
Digestive issues are the #1 priority in my office. The gut plays such an integral part of your wellness, fix the gut, fix your health.

What are you complimented on most in your work?
I am a good listener and care enough to follow through.

Who is your ideal client and why should they connect with you?
My idea patient is that patient who has been misunderstood by traditional health practices and is still feeling unwell. We will get to the root cause of your illness and treat you to make you realize your amazing potential!

In my work, what concepts are sacred? Which rules have you made and which rules do you follow?
No one person is the same. Everyone has a unique set of symptoms and different presentations. A good health history, listening to the patient tell their story, and looking at what others have done and what successes and failures they have had in past treatment can really tell us what direction we need to go.

What is my grand, audacious goal? What do I wish people would know, believe or do?
Trust in the strength of the human body. What you do to it matters. If you neglect it, you will realize the sum of the totals. Treat it correctly (and easily, I might add) and you can feel so much better. The adage “You are what you eat” pretty much sums it up.

Any passions and personal goals?
I have traveled quite a bit. We love to visit foreign countries and adapt to their culture. I love to learn about the differences between our American ways and the ways of other nations.

What do I do for fun in my spare time?
We love to attend live theatre and concerts. I have been a performer and have also directed.

Something unique about me?
I am always upbeat. I like to find the good in everything and everyone.
