About Dr. Shane McTague
Dr. Shane McTague is the Chiropractic Physician at Aligned Modern Health Southport. Dr. McTague is a board-certified Chiropractic Physician and physiotherapist. He is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic where he obtained his doctorate of Chiropractic Degree. For undergrad he also attended the University of Iowa, Go Hawks! As a student he had the opportunity to be a teaching assistant in a variety of departments, in addition to being an intern in the rehabilitation and sports department. Subsequently, Dr. McTague was chosen not once, but twice to be a part of the prestigious clinical rotation programs within the Veteran Affair’s Healthcare Systems in both Chillicothe, Ohio and Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Dr. McTague strives to continually refine the modern approach to evidence-based musculoskeletal healthcare . He takes an active movement-based approach striving to work together as a team regarding your healthcare. Dr. McTague specializes in Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy, preventing unnecessary surgeries, sport-specific rehab programs, and working with endurance athletes. He enjoys working with those of all ages and backgrounds.
Dr. McTague is an avid distance runner and former collegiate athlete. He is a member of several local track clubs in the area. In his limited free time, he also enjoys walking his dog Arizona, woodworking, cooking, and watching movies.

My acceptance into the very competitive VA Medical Center Externship program at two locations.

I have been seeing patients since about 2022.

MCHS Class of 2017 “Best Dressed” award winner
What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
I was a cadaver lab teaching assistant for 2 years.
How does your education connect to your professional career? What about personal experiences?
I had two major hip surgeries during high school which sparked my interest in the medical field.
What problems do you consistently solve for your patients?
I consistently help patients return to their favorite activities, even when others have said they would never be able to do them again.
What are you complimented on most in your work?
My interpersonal communication.
Who is your ideal patient and why should they connect with you?
Anyone looking to be actively engaged in their healthcare. I am committed to giving them autonomy and helping them engage in their favorite activities pain free and at full function!
Do you have any family members or pets to include in your bio?
My 6 y/o Border Collie rescue named Arizona or Zo for short.
Do you have any other passions of personal goals that you would like to share?
I am running the Chicago Marathon this year and hope to qualify for Boston!
What do you do for fun in your spare time? What are your hobbies?
I enjoy running, listening to live music, woodworking, walking my dog, and watching movies.
