Q&A with Dr. Johnson
What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?
I’m passionate professionally in patient’s deriving benefit and meaning from their care and serving as a guide to help them towards their goals. I am passionate personally in gaining new experiences and getting to know new people.
What three traits define you?
Dependable, empathetic, and adaptable
What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?
I feel like I would still want to be working with people in pain with education, exercises, and adjusting even without getting paid.
What are you surprisingly good at?
Doodling, like I’m not a good artist, but I can be good at doodle or drawing something small or fast.
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
Water, both literally because we need water to survive and also emotionally because I enjoy lakes, waterfalls, and being at the beach and being in the water.
What’s the biggest proof that you’re good at what you do?
When people trust you and continue to keep working with you.
What’s your biggest accomplishment?
Completing a thesis in undergrad to graduate with honors
What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
I worked at Cold Stone creamery making ice cream for one night as part of a fundraiser in undergrad
How does your education connect to your professional career? What about personal experiences?
My background in nutritional and health behaviors/promotion has helped me to understand where patients are coming from and where they stand when working with them as well as understanding when nutritional interventions may be warranted and able to comfortably give simple easy habit changes that can be done for this.
What are you complimented on most in your work?
My positivity/happy-go-lucky-ness/interpersonal skills with patients
Who is your ideal client and why should they connect with you?
A normal person, weekend warrior, because I understand that everyone does things and keeps active in their own ways and a little support in the simple every day life can go a long way.
In your work or creative process, what concepts are sacred? Which rules have you made, which ones do you follow?
No rules are sacred, just go with the flow
Do you have any other passions of personal goals that you would like to share?
I’d like to start running twice a week and maintain this into the future and build up the speed and distance I am able to run
What do you do for fun in your spare time? What are your hobbies?
Workout, read, run, draw/doodle, watch shows, explore new places to eat
Share something unique that most people don’t know about you.
I ate 50 Hot dogs in 5 days after losing a bet by following a carefully crafted meal plan that still helped me to achieve a (relatively) balanced diet during that time.
