Q&A with Dr. Spencley
What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?
Both professionally and personally, I am deeply passionate about education. Within my practice, I prioritize ensuring that my patients have a thorough understanding of their treatment plans and the rationale behind them. It is essential to me that patients are empowered with knowledge to actively participate in their health journey.
On a personal level, I thrive on expanding my knowledge and skills. I enthusiastically embrace new hobbies and challenges, relishing the opportunity to delve into unfamiliar subjects and understand how things operate. Whether in my professional capacity or in my personal pursuits, I am committed to maintaining a lifelong learner mindset, always eager to absorb new information and grow.
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
I can’t imagine life without my dynamic duo: Bea, mischievous the grey torbie, and Snaggy, the chill orange tabby. They’ve been my partners in crime since my undergrad days, sticking with me through all the ups and downs. Whether it’s cozy nights in or playful antics around the house, they bring so much joy to my life. Grateful to have these furballs by my side through it all!
What’s the biggest proof that you’re good at what you do?
You know, one of the surefire signs that I’m doing a good job is when my pregnant patients trust me with the care of their newborns after delivery. For me, it’s a clear sign that I’ve earned their trust confidence, and have done a good job educating them. There’s nothing quite like seeing those little ones come in for treatment, knowing that their parents have chosen me to help ensure their health and well-being. It’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly, and it’s incredibly rewarding to play a role in their early development and growth.
Who is your ideal client and why should they connect with you?
My ideal patient is someone who not only prioritizes their health but is also eager to take proactive steps towards improving it. They’re ready to fully commit to their care, embracing the journey with determination and enthusiasm. Whether it’s making lifestyle changes, adhering to treatment plans, or actively engaging in their own well-being, they’re invested in their path to wellness.
What do you do for fun in your spare time? What are your hobbies?
I tend to jump from hobby to hobby, but you’ll usually find me engaged in something active, immersed in a good book, or unleashing my creativity. Crafting and decorating cakes are among my passions—I actually used to be a professional cake decorator while pursuing my degrees! There’s something incredibly fulfilling about bringing sweetness to life through intricate designs and delicious creations.
