Q&A WITH  KYLE PIGNEY

What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?

Professionally I am most passionate about helping people improve and live life pain free. Personally, I am all about self-care! I think it is essential to take care of yourself both physically and mentally.

 What three traits define you?

Caring, dedicated, and genuine

What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?

Probably what I’m doing now in some form.

What are you surprisingly good at?

Teaching. I taught undergraduate courses as a part of my Graduate Assistantship and it felt very natural but that also goes for teaching and instructing about exercise and the body.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?

Dogs for sure.

What’s your biggest accomplishment?

Completing my master’s degree.

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

Working at a dine-in movie theatre. Doesn’t sound that weird but it most certainly was.

  1. How does your education connect to your professional career? What about personal experiences?

My education is directly related to what I do. My Master’s is in Biomechanics which focuses on the mechanics of human movement. My Bachelor’s is in Exercise Science which is a bit more broad but still applicable. In terms of personal experience, my time as a teaching assistant and a personal trainer has taught me a lot about working with people and how people learn.

  1. What problems do you consistently solve for your clients?

  1. What are you complimented on most in your work?

My clear and concise instruction mostly. People always tell me that I do a good job of simplifying things that may seem complicated at first.

  1. Who is your ideal client and why should they connect with you?

My ideal client is anyone who comes in with an open mind and is willing to work a little bit to help themselves.

  1. In your work or creative process, what concepts are sacred? Which rules have you made, which ones do you follow?

  1. What is your grand, audacious goal? What do you wish people would know, believe, do?

Probably to see and travel the world as much as possible. I wish people would empathize more and see their fellow humans as equals. I think everyone can stand to care more for themselves and others. (sorry to get cliché there a bit)

  1. Where do you live?

Right now I live in New Lenox, which is a southwest Chicago suburb.

  1. Do you have any family members or pets to include in your bio?

Just my wonderful parents, two siblings (brother and sister) and my dog named Carly-Beth ????

  1. Do you have any other passions of personal goals that you would like to share?

Traveling and exploring. Haven’t been able to do much of that recently but I would like to start again soon.

  1. What do you do for fun in your spare time? What are your hobbies?

Exercise (mostly training like a wannabe powerlifter/strongman), play video games, watch TV shows and movies, and just chillin.

  1. Share something unique that most people don’t know about you.

I physically cannot make myself burp. No matter how hard I try. The only times I’ve ever burped have been accidental. Very weird.
