Q&A with Dr. Cool

What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?

Professionally, I want my patients to feel a genuine connection and feel that we are meeting them where they are and life is continually improving. Personally, I am an avid houseplant gardener, I love being in nature and bringing plants into every room of my home makes me so joyful.

What three traits define you?

Transparency in all that I do, people appreciate that honesty. I keep a sense of humor even through hard days and my laughter is contagious. I am authentic and that creates a safe environment for people to be seen for who they are and heal.

What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?

I am fascinated by humans and how we interact and learn from each other, I would coach and guide people everyday of my life, as long as I was also surrounded by books and plants.

What are you surprisingly good at?

Calligraphy, I’m skilled with fountain pens and ink.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?

Libraries, my desire to learn and read everything is strong.

How long have you been working in your field?

I have been in healthcare in various forms for 15 years, specifically functional medicine for 5+ years.

What’s the biggest proof that you’re good at what you do?

I have had multiple families who came in for one child, eventually the whole family began care due to the results and my absolute favorite is when a woman is struggling with infertility and we work together and eventually she brings more than one beautiful child into the world. Thats success changing families.

What is your biggest accomplishment?

I have won many awards while in practice ( 40 under 40, Best of Noco, Best of Fort Collins) and yet I think crafting and living a life that I love has been a brave undertaking that was harder than getting two doctorates and running a clinic.

What is the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

I was a sign spinner for a housing development for a summer, I loved dancing to music, being outside, getting lots of sun and movement was the best and weirdest job I have ever had.

What problems do you consistently solve for your patients?

Making healthy choices the easy choice, that’s the way I often help people with their lifestyle challenges.

Who is your ideal client and why should they connect with you?

My ideal client is someone who is fed up with how they have been treated medically and are ready to do things differently, someone who feels they are ready to invest in their health and do things that are unconventional. I help people advocate for themselves, heal the underlying problems and recover their desire for life.

In your work or creative process, what concepts are sacred? Which rules have you made/followed?

The healing power of nature is sacred to me.
People have to be able to open up and share what they actually want out of “being healthy”, they need to know their why and what they are aiming for.
My rule: Make the healthy choice the easy choice.

Do you have any other passions of personal goals that you would like to share?

I love national parks and have been to so many, however I would love to visit them all. Eventually, I want to fill my passport with stamps from every continent.

Share something unique that most people don’t know about you.

I played right guard on a football team where I was the only female.
