Q&A with Dr. Palovich

What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?
Professionally:
I’m most passionate about helping people achieve optimal health through functional medicine. I specialize in hormone balance and thyroid health, and I love empowering my clients to take control of their well-being. I believe in addressing the root causes of health issues rather than just managing symptoms, and I find great fulfillment in seeing my clients transform their lives and regain their vitality.

Personally:
On a personal level, I’m passionate about living a balanced and active lifestyle. I’m a big believer in the mind-body connection and prioritize fitness, self-care, and continuous learning. I also love spending time with family and friends and supporting others in their health journeys.

What 3 traits define me?
Empathetic – I truly care about the well-being of others and always seek to understand their unique challenges and needs. This allows me to build strong, trust-based relationships with my clients and colleagues.
Driven – I’m highly motivated to pursue my goals, whether it’s advancing my functional medicine practice, enhancing my leadership skills, or constantly improving my knowledge to better serve others. I thrive on challenges and am always looking for ways to grow.
Holistic – I approach both my professional and personal life with a focus on balance and overall well-being. I believe that optimal health comes from treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and I use this mindset in both my work and daily routine.

What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?
I would still pursue helping others improve their health and well-being. Whether it’s through providing functional medicine care, coaching individuals with thyroid and hormone issues, or creating wellness content, my passion for supporting others in their health journeys goes beyond financial rewards. I genuinely enjoy seeing people transform their lives, and the sense of fulfillment I get from helping others achieve their health goals is priceless.

What are you surprisingly good at?
I’m surprisingly good at making complex health and wellness concepts easy to understand and actionable for others. Whether it’s explaining functional medicine principles, guiding clients through hormone balance strategies, or simplifying lifestyle changes, I have a knack for breaking down difficult topics into relatable, digestible pieces. This ability helps my clients feel empowered and confident in taking the next steps in their health journeys.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
My rescue dog, Roxie.

How long have you been working in your field?
Five years.

What is the biggest proof that you are good at what you do?
The biggest proof that I’m good at what I do is the success and transformation of my patients. Many have experienced significant improvements in their health, from better hormone balance and thyroid function to increased energy, weight loss, and overall well-being.

What’s your biggest accomplishment?
I completed my first marathon two months after brain surgery.

What is the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
I was a ski instructor in Park City, Utah.

What problems do you consistently solve for your patients?
I consistently solve problems related to hormone imbalances, thyroid health, and overall wellness. Many of my patients struggle with symptoms like fatigue, weight gain, mood swings, and brain fog, often due to underlying issues such as hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s, or adrenal dysfunction.

Who is your ideal patient and why should they connect with you?
My ideal patient is someone struggling with hormone imbalances or thyroid issues, such as hypothyroidism or Hashimoto’s, who is ready to take a proactive approach to their health. They are likely feeling frustrated with traditional approaches that only address symptoms, and they want to get to the root cause of their health challenges. They are open to making lifestyle changes, committed to their healing journey, and looking for personalized care and guidance.

In your work, what concepts are sacred? Which rules have you made and which rules do you follow?
In my work, the sacred concept is always treating the whole person—not just the symptoms but the root causes of their health issues. I believe in a holistic approach that addresses physical, mental, and emotional well-being, and this principle guides all my patient care and treatment plans.

Do you have any passions or personal goals that you would like to share?
In addition to my professional work, I’m passionate about fitness and maintaining a balanced, healthy lifestyle. I believe in the power of movement and its role in both physical and mental health, which is why I’m committed to staying active and encouraging others to do the same. I’m also passionate about continuous personal growth—whether it’s through furthering my education in functional medicine or pursuing leadership opportunities in wellness and healthcare.

What do you do for fun in your spare time? What are your hobbies?
In my spare time, I love staying active—whether it’s through hiking, yoga, Pilates, or simply enjoying the outdoors. Fitness is not only a passion of mine but also a way to recharge and stay balanced. I also enjoy creating wellness content, whether it’s for social media or educational resources, as it allows me to share my knowledge and help others on their health journeys.

In addition to fitness and wellness, I enjoy spending time with husband and rescue dog, Roxie, traveling, and exploring new places. I’m always up for trying new experiences, whether it’s cooking a new recipe or discovering a hidden gem in my city. These activities help me relax, recharge, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
