About Rachel

Rachel received a Master of Science degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and is NCCAOM board certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbs. While her clinical interests include women’s health, chronic pain, anxiety, trauma, PTSD and facial rejuvenation, she has advanced training and a wealth of experience in infertility and orthopedic disorders.

Rachel is experienced in treating specific fertility problems such as irregular/anovulatory menstrual cycles, PCOS, thin endometrial lining, advanced maternal age, endometriosis and elevated FSH levels and autoimmune related infertility. Understanding that the stress and the sense of urgency accompanying the conception process can be overwhelming, she focuses on improving patients’ reproductive health while also helping them to feel more relaxed. Patients undergoing hormone therapy, IUI and IVF have successfully conceived under Rachel’s treatments, in addition to those who she has helped to conceive naturally. Treatment plans include acupuncture, herbal formulas, eastern nutrition, lifestyle advice, and are tailored to address each patient’s individual needs.

Rachel is experienced and has specialized training in common issues in pregnancy such as morning sickness, constipation, pain, insomnia, breech presentations and labor induction. Rachel has a great deal of experience in treating recurrent miscarriage and pregnancy loss as well as treating autoimmune issues in pregnancy such as low platelets, elevated natural killer cells, blood clotting factors, elevated antibodies and Hashimoto’s disease.

A multidisciplinary approach is used in Rachel’s treatment of orthopedic disorders; she uses a combination of acupuncture, moxa, cupping, gua sha and tui na. By blending traditional Chinese style acupuncture with trigger point therapy, motor point needling and orthopedic acupuncture, patients get optimal results. Rachel is very experienced in treating chronic and acute neck and back pain with an emphasis on disc problems and radiculopathy. Rachel enjoys working with athletes that present with sports related injuries such as muscle sprains/strains, tendon/ligament tears, stress fractures, plantar fasciitis, shoulder impingements, runner’s knee, iliotibial band syndrome, tendinitis and bursitis.
