About Anna Goldman

Anna Goldman holds a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine and is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the State of Illinois. Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, Anna worked as a postpartum and labor support doula, a yoga and meditation instructor and (long ago) as a professional dancer.  Anna loves the way acupuncture can bring a sense of increased wellness, ease, and body awareness to her patients, while also addressing their chief complaints. She has a special interest in Women’s Health, particularly fertility, pregnancy and the postpartum period and has experience working with the fertility concerns of both men and women.

Q&A with Anna Goldman

What three traits define you?

Honest. Heartfelt. Committed.

What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?

Garden. I love working with plants and being outside. I like the smell of the soil and the wind on my face.

What are you surprisingly good at?

I have really good balance. I’m also a good listener and problem solver. I’m very logical.

How long have you been working in your field?

I graduated from acupuncture school in 2017. I’ve been working in healthcare and wellness since 2007 as a doula and as a yoga and meditation instructor.

What’s your biggest accomplishment?

I’ve climbed mountains in multiple countries, but I think my biggest accomplishment will be birthing and raising two babies (still working on the raising part!)

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

In high school I was a dancer for a DJ company. I was paid to get the crowd dancing at parties, mostly Bar and Bat Mitzvahs.

How does your education connect to your professional career? What about personal experiences?

Acupuncture ties many of my personal interests together, from mind-body awareness and full movement capacity, to the support of women and mothering. Even my love of gardening feels loosely associated through the use of herbal medicine and the general ethos of attaining health by living in harmony with nature and the elements.

What are you complimented on most in your work?

My ability to be compassionate and connect with my patients. I genuinely enjoy taking time to be with my patients and listen to what’s going on with them.

Who is your ideal client and why should they connect with you?

Anyone who is willing to be involved in their healing. I get especially excited about supporting women through fertility and into their pregnancies. And as a mom and former doula, I feel very passionate about supporting new mothers in their healing. Culturally, we don’t support each other nearly enough during this sensitive time.

What is your grand, audacious goal? What do you wish people would know, believe, do?

That they can be themselves, and relax a little.

Do you have any family members or pets to include in your bio?

I have two young children and a wonderful partner.

Share something unique that most people don’t know about you.

I used to be a professional dancer!
