This Breakfast Sausage Recipe takes the guessing game out of your morning breakfast. Making your own sausage means less processed food in your diet and puts you in control of the ingredients.
Ingredients: serves 4 (4 oz servings)
1 lb. ground turkey, chicken, or pork (organic, hormone and antibiotic free)
2 tsp. fresh sage
1 tsp. fresh rosemary
1 tsp. fresh thyme
½ tsp. garlic or onion powder (alternatively use ¼ cup chives or green onion)
½ tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. Himalayan sea salt
Combine all ingredients except the oil and shape into patties. Bake at 400°F for 25 minutes. Serve hot or option to freeze and reheat in a skillet as needed.
Alternatively cook in a lightly oiled skillet with coconut or olive oil over medium heat, about five minutes per side or until no longer pink in the middle.
*Serve with a side of roasted sweet potato, butternut squash, or sautéed vegetables.
